Somerville Retail Services is one of the largest retail ready processors of retail ready meat products in Australia. A family owned and operated company, we have grown from one small production line to presently supplying Coles Supermarkets in each State throughout South Eastern Australia.
Somerville Retail Services (SRS) has built its reputation on consistent delivery service, meeting our customer’s needs and having a strong quality focus.
Our production and delivery cycle is less than 48 hours, from receiving an order to delivery to a Coles store.
To maintain our position as the industry leader in retail ready processing in Australia, SRS utilizes the latest technology and innovation from around the world. We strive for continual improvement benchmarking our processes and our efficiency with similar operations internationally. We maintain the highest standards of quality and retail presentation to ensure all products comply with our customer’s product specifications. SRS has in excess of 90 individual Beef, Veal, Lamb and Pork product that are produced to order every day.
History
1998
Somerville Retail Services and Coles have been working together to integrate Retail Ready supply of fresh meat to it supermarkets since 1998.
It all started with the first store located in Healesville on the fringe of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, orders produced and delivered direct to store with refrigerated vans, 6 days per week.
2000
During the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Somerville Retail Services was asked to supply retail ready meat to stores located in the Sydney central business district, within a small delivery window in the very early part of the day.
The same Coles stores continue to be supplied retail ready meat after the Olympics and many more stores have been added, making New South Wales another daily destination for Somerville Retail Services.
2016
Nearly 20 years on and Retail Ready Meats is a component of the landscape and forms part of the extensive Coles supply chain covering the Eastern States of Australia, with products supplied nationally to over Coles 700 stores.
